Alexandr Dmitruevich Ketov

During the Second World War in blockaded Leningrad he drew agitational posters. He was a painter for more than 50 performances in Leningrad Opera Studio of Conservatory, Theatre of Opera and Ballet named after S.M. Kirov (Mariinskiy Theatre nowadays), Theatre of Musical Comedy and other theatres of the country. They include musical performances “Wedding in Malinovka”, “Perikola”, “Seller of Birds”, “Silva”, “Violet of Montmartr”, “The bat”, “The sea has stretched out”. He painted portraits of a number of outstanding contemporaries (among them portrait of actor Kirill Lavrov, theatre director Georgiy Tovstonogov, theatre painter Tatiana Bruni). Ketov – the author of numerous landscapes with views of Petersburg and environments, Staraya Ladoga, Crimea and Dnieper banks.
