Bantikov Andrei Sergeevich (1914-2002)

He was a student of V. Rachinsky’s at the studio of fine arts in Pavlovo-Posad from 1926. Then he of a student of A.D. Zaitsev at workers' faculty of fine arts of Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture from 1932 and from 1934 to 1940 B.V. Ioganson and A.I. Savinov were his teachers. His diploma work “Seizure of the Winter Palace” is exhibited in the Museum of the Academy of Arts now. He was a participant of exhibitions from 1939. He worked in battle genre (many of his works are devoted to the years of the Great Patriotic War and military theme), as well as in landscape and portrait genre. She made series of sketches during his voyage to India from 1956 to 1957. From 1952 he was one of painters of Grekov’s studio. From 1958 to 1963 he participated in making panorama “The defeat of German Nazi troops at the Volga”. In 1948-1951 he was a teacher in Leningrad Higher School of Arts and Technology.
